When I posted at the end of June about planting several hundred gladioli, I never expected I would be gone more than two months before posting again. Most of the glads have either bloomed or are about to, and they have been a real late summer treat. I do have pictures, but I haven’t had time to upload and post them yet.
Another project I’ve been working on this week is getting all my perennial beds cleaned out and planted, ordering seeds and bulbs for Spring, and waiting on my fall bulbs to come in! My yard has suffered terribly and my house was beginning to look abandoned. A little mowing and a lot of weed whacking later, and it’s starting to be a bit more presentable.
I finally found an Osmanthus fragrans that I’ve been pining for at the local Lowe’s and promptly brought it home along with a red camellia and a lorapetalum. I will have a busy Monday evening after work before my classes start on Tuesday to get everything in the ground before it starts getting too cold. I still have some perennials and biennials I need to plant!
I’m going on vacation in Biloxi, MS this weekend to give summer one last hurrah before I get down to the business of Fall and Winter gardening and buckling down on my classes. I hope you all have a great weekend, and would love to hear from you.
