A Personal Note

For the past 9 months or so I have been enrolled in online classes with the goal of someday going to nursing school. Fall semester of 2008 was great, (but there were no posts from September until now) and I came out of a full time semester with 2 A’s and 2 B’s. Not bad, considering I also work full time.
I have made the decision to drop down to part time this semester and focus a little more on things that have been neglected for the past nine months. These things include my home, my gardens, personal growth and peace of mind, and some projects I’ve put on the back burner. This site was one of those back-burned projects.
The goal for nursing school is still there, but I have to be realistic. Quitting my full time job is not an option, and I’ve found that I don’t have what it takes to work full time and go to school full time. I have entirely too much on my plate. For now, I will keep pushing forward with my pre-requisites and try not to let other important things go in the process.
I am also moving to Little Rock in the coming months. This is a long-time-coming move that is finally going to be a reality for me. I enjoy living on the land that my family has owned for generations, but I feel my place is not here. My new location will be much more urban, but I believe I’m going to enjoy it very much.
As you can see, I have a lot to do over the next few months, not the least of which is transplanting my perennials that I can’t leave behind when I move (eek!). I also have to figure out a way to cart 20 gallons of compost to Little Rock and set up a compost pile there. I suppose lidded 5-gallon buckets will do the trick nicely.
Stay tuned for updates.
