What I'm All About:
I grow cut flowers for events (weddings, parties) and wholesale customers alike. I am not a florist, but I can grow flowers for your event if you are arranging your own flowers. I also provide flowers to florists, grocery stores and caterers. For bulk orders, there is a minimum of $100 for delivery. Individual bunches and bouquets may be purchased at the Farmers' Market in Batesville, MS or at my location in Batesville, MS. Please call 1-888-601-5943 for availability.
Please feel free to send me an e-mail. See my About me page for more info. Subscribe to the Cut Flower Availability Feed via e-mail or the Farmers' Market bulletin via e-mail.

The first official day of spring is three weeks from today. Three weeks! Are you ready? Despite the fact that Spring really doesn’t get into full swing until early April around here, there are still things that can be done – and planted – in the yard. Depending on what USDA Zone you live in, [...]

I have run across several articles, and an NPR radio spot, this week that mention the availability of funds for “greening” an existing home. While I applaud any efforts of the government to help people lower their energy costs, increase their comfort, and promote environmentally friendly energy alternatives, I view this with a hint of [...]

Although there isn’t much blooming in my yard this week, there is always something going on in the garden. Textures and shapes abound all year, and right now things are starting to bud and bloom all over this area. My mother’s daffodils and crocus are in full swing right now. I snapped a couple of [...]

I will be moving to another state by June of this year so my habitat project is on hold until I get into a new house. While the new location will not have the available land I have now, I still have a goal to turn whatever piece of the earth I have into a [...]

For the past 9 months or so I have been enrolled in online classes with the goal of someday going to nursing school. Fall semester of 2008 was great, (but there were no posts from September until now) and I came out of a full time semester with 2 A’s and 2 B’s. Not bad, [...]

Well, planning to anyway. I will be in Little Rock next weekend, and my plan is to attend the show on Saturday afternoon, take lots of pictures, and maybe even find a job while I’m there. Finding a job is a secondary goal, but it can’t hurt to ask. At any rate, I’ll post next [...]

I’m pleased to announce that Backyard Grown Gardens now has a Discussion Forum. Unfortunately, I was not able to bridge the member list from here to the forums, so membership there will require a separate registration. I want to keep the boards fairly small and easy to navigate so no one gets lost. That’s not [...]

Even if you don’t have a yard, you can grow vegetables on your patio or balcony. Seed sellers have learned that apartment and condo-dwellers like fresh vegetables too, and sell a variety of seed that is suitable for pot culture. I’ve included a list of varieties at the end of this post for reference. Herbs [...]
