I have been seriously lax in posting, and for that I apologize. I do have a valid excuse (or two). It’s not that I’ve lost interest (not entirely), it’s just been raining like mad! I also started classes on 8/25, and picked up my knitting hobby again, in addition to taking a second part-time job at The Garden District.
Yes, I am an old lady. I enjoy gardening, knitting, and I even have a few gray hairs. I’m only 32, believe it or not.
If you like knitting, check out Ravelry. I have a profile there, where you can look at my projects and my (small) stash. If you are already a member, give me a shout.
I do have some sad news to report. My brother very kindly mowed my grass while I was out of town, and wound up mowing over my pumpkins. I’m not terribly distraught. They weren’t doing well anyway. The sunflowers and zinnias have been fabulous for weeks, so I can’t really complain. This time of year it’s hard for me to get motivated to garden. When fall gets here I’ll be weeding, mulching and preparing for winter. Right now I have too much going on, and gardening has taken a back seat. You will know my house immediately if you drive by sometime, as my flower beds have been overtaken by grass again.
I’m so ashamed.
This weekend I will be making some seriously knock-out containers at The Garden District and I will try to take pictures. Stop by and see us if you are in the neighborhood!
